Great Pyrenese pups

Apparantly, my home is really an animal shelter!  With three dogs, one cat and one cockatiel, all but the bird have cried "sanctuary" at my front door!  Bert, a black lab mix, was literally thrown out of a car as it passed our house. Lady and Poppet - sisters -  are Great Pyrenese pups, about 4 1/2 months old. The smaller one, Lady, only looks so because we shaved her down after she had been hit by a car.  She is mending very nicely and her limp is nearly gone.  Poppet still has her thick coat and is with us because we just couldn't separate her from her sister.  It seems that none of them have any intention of leaving any time soon. Bert is still with us after 5 years and the sisters have been here about a month now.  Then there was Fred, a small mixed dog; Maggie, a black lab pup; Smokey, a little gray kitten;...the list goes on.  We've managed to find good homes for them.  Well, except for Bert and he's one of the family now, as will be Lady and Poppet,  I suspect.  Please excuse the pupils in their pics...can't figure out how to fix that on my camera (still getting the hang of it).

Movable ATC

I've been away from my blog for a while, my apologies.  My dh had surgery...deviated septum and chronic sinusitis.  He had to have his nose rebroken and the sinus cavities scraped and extra sinus pockets cut out, tubes up his nose...He's doing much better now and can actually breathe now!  So, now I'm back in the crafting circle :)
I made this ATC for the DL Lottery Challenge on ISC .  It's one ATC with a little circle that is held in by a brad designed to look like another ladybug. There is a little edge of the circle that shows above the "seed packet" that turns with your thumb and the different flowers show through the round window.

Simple Halloween Invitation

As I started to make the invitations for our family Halloween bash, I discovered that I have VERY FEW Halloween stamps!!!  Going to have to take care of that problem! Anyway, here's what I came up with for a simple invite that the grandbabies will like.
Used Inka stamps for columns and top piece (painted with china black Twinkling H2Os). Used masking technique then inked sky with navy blue and black pigment inks. Cut out yellow circles, stamped with tree branches and little bat then lined up with image on card front and glued (Spotlight technique). For the inside: Used cuttlebug embossing folder and inked with Color Box black and orange pigment inks. Sizzix large parchment die used for list, edges inked with Color Box pigment inks (cocoa & black).
Oh yeah, I noticed after all was "said and done", that I misspelled "ghoulish"...left out the "h"...oops, my bad :)

SS Oriental Challenge

New SimonSaysChallenge is for an oriental card. I LOVE asian but don't have any asian paper so I made my own. I used Color Box pigment ink pads to stamp an oriental tree and poem on black cs for the background. I heat embossed with gold, turquoise and reddish/pink EPs. I stamped the asian women on white cs and painted her with Twinkling H2Os, cut her out and adhered to card with dimensional foam dots. The kanji sentiment was stamped on pp and edges inked with a metallic turquoise pigment ink. Used red cs and gold glitter cs to frame the sentiment and then adhered with dimensional foam dots, too. Red funfur fiber is wrapped around one side. (All the stamped images and the sentiment are Inka stamps). I tried to get a clearer pic of the shimmer of the H2Os and the embossing. This was a really fun challenge. Thanks for visiting and taking a gander :)

Dragonfly Dream

I got the sentiment stamp from Inka Stamps when she was closing her stamp line. I used sizzix diecut dragonflies (painted with stickles) and stampendous dragonfly stamp for the background.  I used the little SU oval punch and cut little strips of green cs for the cattails.

Challenge card

The purse card was for a challenge by Jacque I won on InspireSwapChat.com.  The leaf card was for a contest hosted by Janice. I didn't win, but I loved the challenge :)  The leaf is a sizzix diecut which I scored and inked with red, orange and green pigment inks.

Chunky Book pages

These are pages I made for a chunky book page swap. It was a scavanger hunt type. We had a list of many things to choose from and these are the items I chose to include in my pages. (Listed in order of pics): artist's choice (bottle tops with vintage photos), beads, book text, broken jewelry, dried flowers, lace, newspaper (inked and made into flowers), toothpicks (rose trellis), twigs (tree branches), used postage (toothpicks used for pen and pencil), yarn and fabric

Baby Shower Book

I was in a swap that was for pages for a baby shower book of gifts and games.  It came in really handy for my dil's baby shower, and for several friends at the hosp.  Here are some pics of the book.  I used my BIA to bind the pages together. I also added tabbed divider pages and extra plain paper in the back for notes, etc.

Pumpkin ATCs for Swap

These are 2 of 9 ATCs I made for a swap on InspireSwapChat.  I used a jack-o-lantern stamp and covered the faces with double stick tape, which I removed before stamping on white cs, coloring with water color pencils and cutting out.  The fence is Sizzix; the bare tree is stampendous. I used acrylic paints (red and yelow) and stippled in the leaves.
