Recipe Card Challenge - BOLD backgrounds

On the next Recipe Card Challenge, we were to create a bold background for our recipe.  I used an SU set and Pumpkin Stazon and stamped onto an orange cs.  Used Cactus Green Stazon for the stems.  The trim in Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scroll Work die. Stamped and cut out another pumpkin for an embellishment.  This is what I came up with :)

Scrolls Work Card challenge

I was buying stamps from this company when it was Inka's Stamps...some of you on InspireSwapChat may remember them :)  Due to health reasons, Inka had to quit her stamping business.  ANYway, her dil has taken it up and it is now called Scrolls Work Stamps.  Her blogspot is hosting a card challenge - a sketch - and the winner receives "$15 worth of Scrolls Work Stamps and have your card published on our blog and on the Scrolls Work Gallery".  Here is my entry. I used Inka's (I bought them when she still had her store) Distant Penelope and Penelope images, the sentiment is her's also.  The paper is from KandCompany and is called Ancestory.com Mat Pad (absolutely GORgeous papers!!!)  The paper flowers are from Flowers In Time. Check out her blog and challenge here: http://scrollswork.blogspot.com/2010/03/sketch-challange-5.html and her store here: scrollswork.com.  Oh, and there is a sale on stamps happening, too :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful, sunshiney day :)

Recipe Card challenge

I actually made it for the Comfort Food recipe challenge at Recipe Card Challenge Blog, I used Sizzix small Ladybug die body and cut off the "head" to make the grapes, the Sizzix green die (small) Leaf Trio for the leaves, and skinny strips of green curled aroud a small paintbrush for the vines.  MS border punch.  SU Carte Postale set for the greenery and flowers around the edge of the card.

ISC Designer's Lottery Challenge card

This week's DL (designer's lottery) challenge was to make a "matchbook" card.  I used two-toned cs for the base. Punched one edge with a MS punch and folded it, creased the base again so that the "lace" was showing on the bottom of the card.  I had this image of daffodils from an image swap. Colored ot with water color pencils, cut it out and adhered it to the cover flap. Added a couple of MS punched butterflies, made a little framed butterfly and added some bling. The inside is using the same border punch and a butterfly on white cs.

Assorted Cards

Here are a few cards I've finished.  The first has "Get well soon" inside. It's a stamp from ISC online "Garage Sale" and it doesn't have the manufacturor's name, but I think he's just too funny...lol.

This one is made using flowers cut from white cs using Bosskut flower dies.  I took one piece with a cut out and used it as a stencil and sponged the background on cream colored cs.  Added the sentiment from SU and added bling to the flower centers.

This card is simple and using a flower stamp from Unity Stamp's 2010 (March) edition Adventures In Happiness. (Love that stamp set!!!)  The sentiment is from River City Rubber works.

Favorite Recipe recipe cards

I made some recipe cards for a swap on ISC.  Some of my - or my family's - favorite recipes.  The Lemon Cake brings back such great childhood memories of my mom (who is no longer with us).  It has a wonderful "sweet tart" taste! The Twinkie Cake is one I ran across that the kids - especially my two oldest boys :)

I've done a few cards, also, from some new stamps that I bought.  I'll be uploading them soon :)
