Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #27

This weeks Peachy Keen challenge is using inspiration from colors and/or images:  It's going til May 2md.
I used the colors for my inspiration...along with PK-502 face stamps.  I used an SU punch for the flowers .

Another Frosted Filter card

Here is another frosted filter technique card for a swap at ISC. I used SU reinkers Real Red and Wild Wasabi.  The rose is made out of left over filter scraps and the stamped inage is from Scrolls Work Stamps and stamped with same colors I used for the filter. I used watercolor pencils to fill in the roses and leaves.  Used the same images and stamped the filter and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I made this dress using the frosted filter technique.  The challenge for Stampchallenges is to make something layered.  I layered the ruffle and swag, added homemeade paper roses...and voila!  It is done.  Stamped and heat embossed the designs with white embossing powder.
Thanks for visiting :)

Building up my wardrobe and Card Candy

I designed a couple of more dresses for my wardrobe :)  The first has a shawl and the second has a stole that can be opened.

I habe also made some card candy for a swap.  If you are not sure what that it. it's simply embellishments that can be added to projects...like Jolee's...but handcrafted yourself and packaged :)  These are great fun to make, too!! I added some transparencies that I'd stamped on using Stazon ink pads and added to each package as an extra treat :)

Thanks for visiting :)  Hope you have a great day!

ISC weekly challenge

Over at InspireSwapChat, weekly challenges are hosted by fellow members.  These are some really fun challenges!  This week - 4/11 to 4/17 - the challenge is to use a sketch and make a card AND decorate the inside to coordinate with the front AND design a matching envelope.  Here is my take:

Recipe Card Challenge Sewing in the Kitchen

This weeks challenge at Recipe Card Challenge is "Sewing In The Kitchen". Use stitching or faux stitching in my recipe card.  I used BG Sugared paper, and for the checked paper (apples, basket & corner mount). Made itty bitty cinnamon sticks out of scrap brown cardstock and tied with a piece of Farmer's Market Cherry Twist thread. I handstiched across the top of the recipe and faux stitched the rest.

Basic Grey - Peachy Keen - Quixotic Challenges All in one

I completed three challenges in just one card!  Woohoo...first time for me :)  The Challenges were:

Basic Grey Week 17 - a sketch by Martine (using Basic Grey paper)
Peachy Keen #26 :
The challenge is to create a card using all of the items/colors/methods listed below:

Stitching (either by sewing needle or hand-drawn)

White and Orange (card could have more colors, but must include these two in the card)

Contain one upcycled item (something that could be thrown away but instead will make its way onto your work of art!)

Any Peachy Keen Stamp

Quixotic Challenge #20 :  The Joys of Spring - Create a spring themed card or project!

So...I used Basic Grey Sugared paper collection, Peachy Keen's PK-259 Shower Peepers and the orange checked ribbon is the "up/recycled item. It came from a gift box.

Thanks for visiting and taking a peek at my blog :)

ISC Weekly Challenge card

This  the weekly challenge at InspireSwapChat

"You must have white on white meaning all card stock, embellies must be white. You can, for a sentiment or image, use black ink only! The only Ribbon or cord or yarn or brads, ect. must be white, silver, gold or black. If you use any "bling" it must be clear or diamond bling."

Okay...here it is...I saw the words silver, gold, bling and made little silver heat embossed flowers...oops...THEN, I remember seeing glitter, or diamond bling...and I had some Stickles Ice Crystals...which looked pretty clear in the bottle. It dried and has a...well...not really clear tint when you angle it in the light. I used different CB embossing folders, and some white.semi-transparent vellum for the "apron", assorted Sizzix and Bosskutz dies...Su sentiment across the bottom of the dress...IN black I made the dress template to use in another challenge swap I'm in and decided to use it for this one. Oh, also used SU Scallop punch and MS butterfly punch.

My "Row House" village

My "village" is done.  (I'm no doubt going to build another).  These were soooo much fun to create!  And I have all kinds of ideas for more floating around in my head :)  I got some new Tim Holtz clear stamp sets today and used some of them on these.  I posted pics of a couple of them, but some of them had been remodeled :)  Plus, I decided to get off my lazy behind and use my camera so you could see the golden shimmer background. The Rose house underwent some slight renovations and I wanted to show the golden shimmer when it's tilted in the light.

You can go here to find out how to make your own Shimmer Mist:

I have Pearl Ex powders and made my own using floor wax, water, Pearl Ex and an SU reinker.  I used equal amounts of water and liquid floor wax, added a small amount of PE, then enough drops of the reinker to suit my taste.  I mixed them in a mini mister so it doesn't take much at all.  When I stamped the sentiment over it in the Rose house, the shimmer can still be seen through the black India ink I stamped with.  I may use a bit less PE powder next time, although I'm quite happy with how it turned out on the house :)

Row Houses

Some of you may have heard of these already, but I just learned about them...and I absolutely LOVE them.  They are simply decorated pieces of chip board or cs, cut into a point to resemble a roof.  Here are a few of the ones I've done:

Peachy Keen Challenge 25

This card is for Peachy Keen's Chalenge #25...a sketch challenge.  I just got this set in and loved the little chick with the broom (spring cleaning, no doubt).  It's PK-259 Shower Peepers.  The papers are some assorted pieces from my scrap stash.
