Art Flag Banner

I'm in a swap that is for "Art Flags". After I made the required 6, I made more. They are so much fun to make!  The piece of cs or chipboard is 5" across the top and the sides are 6". The "carnations" are scallops punched from coffee filters using SU's scalloped circle punch. The little white flowers are tiny pieces of the coffee filter simply wadded up and glued onto the flag.  The pp is also SU - Raspberry Tart - and sadly it is retired :(  I used Color Box Pink and Moss Green pigment ink pads and SU Cameo Pink classic ink pad for inking and the sentiment. I cut a scalloped oval from Nestabilities from Paper Trey Ink Ivory cardstock. Colored in the little leaves and flowers with Faber-Castell markers. The leaves - also using Raspberry Tart pp - are punched with MS (Martha Stewart) punch.  I had some lace trim that I adhered across the top of the flag and using my Crop-a-Dile, pinched holes in the corners at the top and tied some sheer white organza ribbon leaving a 7 and 1/2" tail on each side. These will be used to tie all the flags together that I get back from the swap  to make a banner.

Inspire Swap Chat Sketch Challenge #5

This is my card for InspireSwapChat's new sketch challenge. I used an image I bought from a member of ISC in the "Garage Sale" section and stamped it with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink. . Added strips of scrap vintage lace. Cut a piece of transparency and edged and stamped it with Stazon Timber Browm using a flourish stamp by Inkadinkado. The pp and pink cs are from my scrap stash. The ivory cs is from Paper Trey Ink. I used Color Box pigment ink pads (Cocoa and Pink) and the Stazon Timber Brown to ink the edges; Su Wild Wasabi and Cameo Coral for the flowers and leaves (SU Carte Postale) and SU Chcolate Chip to stamp the sentiment (also from SU Carte Postale). The flowers are the next to the biggest die cut from Bosskut Design-A-Flower Scalloped Flowers. They are made out of white coffee filters, held together with a mini brad, scrunched up and dabbed with pigment inks and Stazon. I think they look like little carnations :) I've seen similar flowers made with tissue paper, but, alas, I had none (which is why the coffee filters). I've made larger ones using SU's round scallop punch. I really like how they turn out! I've been using coffee filters quite a bit ever since I joined a swap on ISC for "Frosted Filters". There are some cards in some earlier posts that I've made, and the scrap pieces make great roses and flowers! They are very easy to work with, dry quickly and are sturdier than tissue paper! Coffee filters...not just for coffee anymore ;)

ANYway, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

ISC Sketch Challenge #4 and more

Firstm I made this card for the 4th sketch challenge at InspireSwapChat.  I used Stampendous "Changito Pirates", Inka's alphabet for the sentiment, MS border punch, Fancy Pants "The Daily Grind" pp, and Paper Trey Ink white cardstock.
Now, I'm in a swap for Extra Postage Holders (EPH). I used K&Company Wild Saffron Die-Cut Mat Pad and made them matchbook style. Added a bit of ribbon, stamped with Tim Holtz "French Market"clear stamps, SU Carte Postale stamps and Laundry Line hand image.

Then I made some Thinking of you cards just to use up some of my card bases I've made for challenges and ended up not using :)  The first one is using SU Raspberry Tart pp on Paper Trey Ink yellow cs. The deco edge is one of the new Tim Holtz Sizzix dies. The flower is made using three size circles from Sizzix Circles #2 red die. I just crumpled them up and layered them.  The sentiment is from River City Rubber Works and the little fairy is from...um...can't remember right off hand :(   And MS deep edge punch, butterfly and leaf punches.

Thanks for stopping by and hope all of you had a safe and happy 4th!

Still not sure of what the damage is yet : O

Inspire Swap Chat Sketch Challenge #3

I LOVE sketch challenges!   They are so...well...CHALLENGing :)  ANYway...InspireSwapChat has posted it's third sketch challenge and here is my take on it:  The pps are from my scrap stash, the seed bead Bee is from a swap, the green rose is made from a leftover piece of coffee filter from the frosted filter technique swap I was in and last, but not least, is...tada...SPONGE BOB. I got this stamp from StampItCrazy some time last year :)  It's my no.3 grand daughter's birthday next month and she'll be 7.  Plus, her very first word was NOT mama or dada, but - you guessed it - SpongeBob!  So, Chloe, this card's for you!
