Alleycat & Pixie - my namesakes

Wanted to share with you how I chose my name - AlleycatPixie.  Two of my 5 grand daughters, Allison and Jordan, had cute nicknames...Alleycat and Pixie.  I just put them togehter and voila!  AlleycatPixie was created.  Now, some pics of my namesakes:
Alleycat
Pixie
AND...the newest addition- Morgan - with her proud father, Richard (my next-to-the-oldest son - 26 yo)
I believe her nickname is going to be....MO MO :)

Amd here is a pic of Richard's wife Jo Jo (Joanna)  She really got into the Halloween spirit this year!  She dyed her naturally auburn hair BLACK!!! And Richard appears to be a cross between The Joker and The Crow...

My oldest dgd (7 yo)on Halloween - Kaylie Bear (nickname) and some pages fo the 6x6 album I am making for her:

365 Cards - Challenge 265

This is for 365Cards challenge 265 - Simply Put. (My friend, Janice, turned me on to this challenge site - although she doesn't realize it). It's very simple card using 1 patterned paper, 1 embellishment and 1 sentiment. ..no more, no less :)  Anyway, I don't really do simple as I like lots of detail, but here it is:
I used a Spellbinders scalloped oval die to cut out the pp.

I made this 6x6 recipe card for Peachy Keen's challenge...using my favorite face stamps.  Die cuts are all Sizzix dies - Snowman, Circles (used two smallest for the little snowmen), Bowl (cut out of clear plastic), Tree. The faces are PKS PK-520 - Snow Faces The trees and sky are green and blue glitter cs.  I used irridescent glitter on the little guys' cheeks, the top hat and edge of bowl.
I added the glitter for Jacque's challenge at ICS.

Jordan's Album

I have completed and mailed out all swaps I am in and so now can concentrate on the albums for my grandbabies - 5 of them!!!  The first one I'm working on is Pixie's (also part of my name).  I've used assorted pp and cs from my stash and scrap piles, stamped images, punches, chipbord, and stickers I'd collected over the years :)   Got a few pages to finish up...like ones for her 4 yo and 4 month old sisters, her parents (my ds and dil), first fishing trip, etc.  I'll probably do a separate album for holidays.  I make each a mini album each school year.

Here are the pages I have for Pixie so far:

My Minds Eye pp - Frost Signature Christmas' Flying Friends

SU - Chocolate Chip classic inkpad

Cuddlebug - enbossing folders - Swiss Dots and border

Red Stickles

I stamped snowflakes on the blue cs with Chocolate Chip.  Inked all the blue edges with it, too.  Embossed the brown cs - except for the base card - with Swiss Dots. Embossed a narrow strip of blue and ran the Chocolate Chip pad over it.  Glued everything together, added Stickles dots beside ingredients and on Rudolph's nose and voila!

Challenge card

This is a card I made for a challenge at ISCJessie F hosted this weeks challenge there. It was a sketch with an optional challenge of using one colorwith white, black or gray.  I used See d's Boutique Grunge to make the backgrounds. Added SU punches Scalloped circle, tag and flowers.  I used CB Swiss Dots embossing folder for the red cs and a CB border embossing folder for the strip across the bottom.

Birthday Treats

Okay...my birthday was Friday, but since I'd worked Thursday night (12 hour shifts: 7 PN to 7 AM), I slept Friday : /   ANYway, dh was going to take me out Saturday..just me and him.  I couldn't go without the kids so we all jumped in the truck and headed to Cleveland to Ryan's Steakhouse. YUMMY!!!  My 11 yo ds wanted to go to a craft store (didn't know if there was one in Cleveland -never been there before).  Well, as we spotted Ryan's, I spotted a Hobby Lobby across from it!  Yipee!!!  It's SOOOO much nicer than the one in Knoxville!  I found the clearance section and WOW!  Found CB E folders, dies, Spellbinders, deco brads, paintbrushes, papers, cardstock, more stamps...I was in HEAven!  Sisn't get a chance to get to the ribbon and fibers :(  Apparantly, they do not have a public restroom!  BUT...that's okay, because I had a bunch of new toys to play with :).  One of the things I got was the Swiss Dot CB EF and a borders EF.  This card is made using the swiss dot and two of the borders. Also, a Spellbinders buckle. The stamped image is stamped with Color Box pigment ink (Orchid) and heat embossed with pink powder. I filled in the border with gold enbossing powder.

I also found a stamp set from See d's  Savoir Faire - Boutique Grunge - and made this card. The inks are SU classic ink pads; Classic Black,Chocolate, River Rock, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  I used an irridescent blue/green glitter and outlined the wings, bodies and antenae of the butterflies.

As if THAT wasn't enough, when we got home, my two oldest ds' and their families were at our house waiting for us!  All the grandbabies had made me cards, and my oldest ds even made me one!  AND, had gotten a cake...and ice cream...and brought his X-box over with his Guitar Hero games!
My youngest ds bought me a movie - Bedknobs and Broomsticks :)  My dd bought me two books...It was the best birthday EVer!

Christmas Ornaments

I made six of these ornaments for a swap.  I used Imaginisce's "All Bundled Up" from the Polar Expressions line; Sizzix dies - circle, tree, ladybug body (snow buddy); SU scallop punch, Color Box "Chianti" pigment ink, Color Arts "Blue" pigment ink pad, snowflake charms and assorted brads.  I cut two circles for each and glued them together so that the different sides showed.  I punched scallop circles and used brads to fix the charms to them and inked the edges with blue. I used dimensional dots to afix them to the center of the circle.  Inked the entire circle with Chianti and used Blue ink on the blue side.  The snow buddies were cut from craft foam and pieces of yarn glued for the scarves and hats.  I added a small eyelet at the top for the hanging string/wire.

Stash Overload Update

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I've joined a type of swap that our items are made of supplies we already have and not buying anything.  I had joined a Thanksgiving Bounty Swap in which we made 8x8 layouts and had posted a pic of my pages in an earlier post.  I got that swap back today and scrapped two covers and backs and made albums for my two oldest sons and their families.  Here's the cover I made..the second is identical.

And...here is my actual count and list of items I've completed since October 6, 2009 (that's just in TWO MONTHS!):

46 8x8 layouts
two 6x6 lo
140 ATCs
119 6x6 recieps
1 TP Tag
1 mini album/cookbook - 6x6
28 cards
7 GIFTS - two 8x8 albums, 2 CD albums, 1 CD hanger, 2 6x6 albums, 1 TP roll mini album

AND...I still have TONS of stash supplies till!  I hadn't realized how much stuff I actually had until I started this challenge!

What can YOU do with your onhand supply of stuff?

Altered CDs

I've been toying with altering old CDs that I normally throw away.  Don't know WHY I haven't done these before now!!!  Mini albums!  I scrapped the fronts and backs of three CDs, used my crop-a-dial to punch the holes, and used a clip ring for binding.  My dh had my camera so I used my scanner.  I apologize for the blurring.
